Almaty regional subdivision of Kazakhtelecom is among the firsts who moved to Taldikorgan

/IRBIS, Sept 24, 01/ - According to the information submitted to IRBIS, on Sept 21, 2001 Almaty regional subdivision of Kazakhtelecom left Almaty for new regional center - Taldikorgan. It was among the firsts that moved due to the plan of Akimat of Almaty region. Also today there is complete reconstruction and current maintenance of Almaty regional subdivision of Kazakhtelecom in order to supply employees with working sites in Taldikorgan. Videoconference equipment was also moved to Taldikorgan from Almaty. Fiber - optic line was installed in Taldikorgan and this city was connected to trans-asian-european line (TAE). As a result the city is ready to operate as regional center. Today there is free phone capacity, with total volume - 500 phone numbers. Kazakhtelecom informs that 44 of 71 employees desired to leave Amlaty for Taldikorgan. All dislocated employees will live in Kazakhtelecom preventorium during the first month, later 35 employees will be provided with new apartments (12 employees have their own apartments). KZT49.5 m will be allocated for reconstruction of building and preventorium, of which KZT29.5 m will be allocated in 2001, and the rest KZT20 m in 2002. Also employees will be loaned to buy dwellings, total for KZT14.2 m. Those 28 employees who stayed in Almaty were recruited in department of Kazakhtelecom and CTS Almatytelecom. According to company's data, within 6 months there were installed 2404 new telephones in ARSK of Almaty region, that is over the plan by 167%, including villages - thrice. Gross revenue within the same period was fixed at KZT241 m 654 th (152% of the plan and 145.9% to similar period of 2000). Within 6 months of 2001 the operational revenue totaled KZT138,760 th, that is 2.6 times more than plan. There are 1.77 m people live in Almaty region, of which 120 th citizens of Taldikorgan.
