/IRBIS, Aug 22, 01/ - The GSRW informs that yesterday, the power systems
of Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova and Central Asia began operating
simultaneously.
The press service of KEGOC says that the power systems of 14 FSU states,
the Baltic, Azerbaijan and Georgia included, will be operating on the same
frequency. The uniting of the systems became possible after the capital
repair of power transmission lines VL-500 was over. They comprise the
North-South Kazakhstan 500-220 kV transit. Besides, consumers in
southern Kazakhstan will get a chance to receive cheap electricity from
power sources in the north of Kazakhstan.
