KazTransOil CJSC spent approximately KZT40m on environment safety during first six months of this year

/IRBIS, July 18, 01/ - According to public relations department of KazTransOil CJSC (Astana) the company budget for 2001assigned KZT102m for environmental safety of which KZT40m were settled during first six months. Relative to 1998 expenses aimed at these programs increased by four time. According to pipelines exploitation department atmosphere air monitoring works are conducted in branches. By the results of control it was determined that contaminating element content does not exceed maximum admitted concentration. Results of underground water monitoring of "Kalamkas","Karazhnbas","Aktau" stations were acknowledged as good. Planned volume of ecological works for first six months were completed in time. Company informs that in 1999 oil waste refinery and fueled oil ground liquidation program "Usturt" was introduced in Atyrau oil department. It costs over $250 th. "Usturt" reprocessed over 2,500 tonnes of oil waste (400 tonnes in first six months of 2001). KazTransOil planes to spend more $958 th to buy three equipments type "Usturt" with power 3-2 tonnes per hour. August of 2001 is approximate term of settlement. According to press release heating stoves transmission to gas fuel is being conducted though increasing volume of oil transmission through pipeline main. The result of continuing work was decrease of wastes contamination by 1000 tonnes.
