In June 2001 volume of deals in GB at the KASE - KZT51,899.5m

/IRBIS, July 2, 01/ - In June of year 2001, 800 deals for a total of KZT51,899.6m ($354.1m at the current exchange rate of KASE) were made in all sectors of the government bonds (GB) market of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE). In last month, total volume of 935 deals totaled KZT66,201.7m ($453.0m). In initial offering sector two auctions have been conducted for offering of first issue municipal bonds of Eastern-Kazakhstan region (KZ7051806A46, KASE trade code - VKU036.001; $100, KZT1bn, June 20.01 - June 18.04, semiannual coupon at 6.30% APR). The participant made 12 deals amounting to KZT500.0m. In purchase and sale sector 376 deals were made for a total of KZT21,336.0m. In comparison with previous month the sector's turnover fell by 13.7%. Corresponding figure for the previous month - 520 deals for KZT41,469.4m. In June the share of the Exchange's turnover in total volume of the deals made on the Kazakhstani secondary market of GB based on comparable operations (including euronotes and repo deals) equaled 70.2% (in May - 88.7%).
