/IRBIS, Feb 20, 01/ - The Great Silk Road World News Agency informs that
as informed by a source with the Almaty office of KazTransOil, the company
has signed an agreement with the Tyumen Oil Company, which owns the
Orsk Refinery, under a protocol to the Treaty On Co-operation and
Development of Fuel and Energy Sectors between the Republic of
Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation. The agreement provides for
swapping Aktobemunaigaz' oil supplied to the Orsk Refinery for
Orenburgneft's oil delivered to Russian refineries under Aktobemunaigaz'
obligations. The agreement clearly defines obligations and responsibilities of
the parties for mutual supplies of around 2,600,000 tones of oil annually. This
will allow lifting restrictions on oil receiving by the main pipeline systems
of Russia and Kazakhstan.
