Aluminii Kazakhstana produced 1.21 mln tons of alumina in 2000

/IRBIS, Jan 24, 01/ - REUTERS informs that Aluminii Kazakhstana JSC increased alumina production from 1,152,000 to 1,208,872 tons in 2000. This consist of 104.9% growth. The increase was conditioned by five year program of alumina production development. The program included increase in alumina output up to 1.5 mln tons whose major consumers are Russian industries. Commodity output totaled KZT26.77 bln or 146.8% to 1999 (KZT18.24 bln). Bauxite production in two major mines increased up to 3,729,428 from 3,606,551 tons. Number of employees was 10,839.
