Kazakhstan names most active import substitution program participants

/IRBIS, Dec.18, 00/ - The Great Silk Road World News Agency informs that Kazakhstan named the most active participants of the import substitution program. Among the companies who signed the most contracts with local producers under the state import substitution program are Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Kazakhmys, Kazakhoil, as well as SSGPO and Ispat Karmet. Among the regions, the most domestic contracts were signed by Karagandy region ($35.2m), the city of Almaty ($25.1m) and East Kazakhstani region ($22.4m). Some $177m worth of agreements and protocols of intentions has so far been signed under the import substitution program. Some $118.5m worth of goods have already been supplied, which is 67% of the agreements signed.
