Mining industry of Kostanai region surpassed 300% in the first half year

Regional statistics agency informs that iron ore (commodity output) increased 3.4 times, iron ore rolled briquettes - 13.4 times, asbestos - 1.5 times. It is said that OJSC "SSGPO" accounted for the most of the growth. The production of raw ore is said to have reached 14.684 mln tons, which is believed to exceed the planned output. Also, 3.188 mln tons of rolled briquettes was produced and 6.486 mln tons of commodity ore was shipped to the partners, is said. The managers of the combine say that they are acquiring new technologies, modernizing the equipment, and cutting the costs. The production of cheap, effective and the safest explosives was established, is said. Repair plant is said to have mastered a wide range of its own castings, as well as spare parts and complex repairs, previously to be done by other plants of heavy engineering, such as the Russian "Uralmash". It lessened the dependence of the company on imports. It is said that new horizons at Sokolovskii subsurface mine, whose ores can be used in blast furnace without enrichment, are being developed. A unique Kacharskii deposit site is given a high priority at the combine, and the second 47 km long railroad branch line was built and new mining complex is under construction. It is planned to build a factory to produce metal rolled briquettes. The combine is preparing the workers in order to materialize these plans. At local industrial college eight new majors will be opened in this year - three mining, three - railroad and two energy related.
