Stock market capitalization of the PIS sector of Kazakhstan decreased by $169.9 mln to $1,513.4 mln during the week

/IRBIS, June 16, 00/ - On June 16 the stock market capitalization for corporate securities of Kazakhstan equaled $1,513.4 mln. The market capitalization decreased by $169.9 mln during the week. This substantial change was caused by the decline in the market value of preferred shares of OJSC "Kazakhtelecom" by 66.2%, preferred shares of OJSC "Aluminii Kazakhstana" by 14.2%, preferred shares of OJSC "TNK Kazchrom", preferred shares of OJSC "SSGPO" and common shares of OJSC "Astana-finance" by 0.4%. Besides, the fluctuations of the official exchange rate of tenge to Kyrgyzstan som also influenced the capitalization as two large Kyrgyz companies, namely, JSC "Kyrgyzenergo" and JSC "Kyrgyztelecom", are listed at KASE. There have been no deals over these emitters' securities yet. Thus, the capitalization includes the face value estimated in the US dollars using the official exchange rate of tenge to Kyrgyzstan som at the current date. The growth of preferred shares of OJSC "Kazakhmys" by 77.5% somewhat compensated decline in the capitalization. Currently, 68 instruments of 48 emitters can be traded at KASE.
