KazTransOil puts three facilities of Eastern branch into operation

/KASE, November 25, 14/ – KazTransOil JSC (Astana), whose shares are officially listed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), has provided to KASE the following press-release: quote "KazTransOil" JSC informs that the ceremony of commissioning of the three objects of the Eastern Branch of the Company took place on November 25, 2014: the third line of Kumkol-Karakoin pipeline, retaining pumps at HOPS named after B.Jumagaliev and power supply system at Barsengir OPS. The above named facilities (operated by Zheskazgan oil pipeline department) are important elements for further expansion of Kazakhstan – China pipeline to provide an increase of Kazakhstani crude oil export to China and to ensure the supply of oil for processing at domestic refineries. The project of construction of the third line of Kumkol-Karakoin pipeline started in August, 2012. Total length of a new line is 198.9 km – from 0 km to HOPS named after B.Jumagaliev. The first phase of the project – construction of the "Oil Pipeline Kumkol- arakoin (0-26 km) bypass line" was completed on May 30, 2013. The construction of the second section - "26 km – HOPS named after B. Jumagaliev" started in September, 2013. The State commission signed the Act of commissioning of the second section of Kumkol-Karakoin pipeline on September 30, 2014. The total cost of construction made KZT 23 billion. The project of construction of retaining pumps at HOPS named after B. Jumagaliev started in July, 2013. The new retaining pumps use modern horizontal pumps that provide transportation of oil to Shymkent Refinery and to HOPS Atasu for further transshipment to Atasu-Alashankou pipeline. New horizontal pumps have improved hydraulic characteristics, more reliable design that will improve equipment reliability, reduce energy costs, as well as repair and maintenance costs. The State commission signed the Act of commissioning of retaining pumps at HOPS named after B. Jumagaliev on September 30, 2014. The total cost of construction made KZT 1.1 billion. The project of reconstruction of power supply system at Barsengir OPS (Pavlodar-Shymkent pipeline) started in October, 2013. Worn-out electrical equipment of OPS was replaced by new equipment that meets the requirements of modern standards of energy efficiency and energy saving applied to industrial facilities. The State commission signed the Act of commissioning of power supply system at Barsengir OPS on October 31, 2014. The total cost of the project made KZT 725.
