In period January–September 2014 foreign currency trade volume on KASE increased 1.7 times and made up KZT21.2 trln ($118.9 bn)

/KASE, October 3, 14/ – In the period from January to September 2014 the volume of foreign currency trading on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), including currency swap transactions, made up KZT21,170.2 bn (equivalent of USD118,934.3 mln) increasing against the same period of 2013 1.7 times (1.5 times in dollar terms). In comparison with the previous nine month period (April–December 2013) the trading volume increased by 40.3 % (20.4 % in dollar terms). Tenge devaluated against the dollar on weighted average exchange rate in the current year at 24.16 % APR. In the initial nine months of 2014 the devaluation rate of the tenge to US dollar in nominal terms made up 18.07 %.
