Decision of OPEC to increase crude oil production is a good news for the USA and world economy - Bill Clinton

/IRBIS, March 30, 00/ - On Wednesday President of USA has named as "a good news" for the American and world economy OPEC decision concerning increase of crude oil production. He noted that the reduction of prices on gasoline and heating fuels is expected in the next few weeks and called the national power companies already now to take measures for it. Actually gasoline prices in USA, which are much lower then European, have fallen slightly for last week. It taken place for the first time for last two months, when the average gallon price of gasoline exceeded 1.5 dollars, and in some regions reached almost 2 dollars. On the New York Exchange the price for barrel of oil with May deliveries has decreased on Wednesday by 2.4% to 26.45 dollars - the lowest level since January 12. According to estimations of the Ministry of power of USA, the world oil export will be augmented in 2000 by 1.8 million barrels per day. It should take place due to the OPEC obligation to increase production by more than 1.4 million barrels, and also by intention of Norway and Mexico to increase export by 400,000 barrels, though can happen only in the third quarter. In this connection the independent experts do not exclude that the average price of oil in the current year will make not less than 26 dollars / barrels.
