At KASE demand for dollars of BST is not decreasing

/IRBIS, March 28, 00/ - Today the next morning trades in U.S. dollars, Deutsche marks and euros were held at Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE) with TOD payment terms. 18 banks participated in the trades. Today the trades in U.S. dollars opened at KZT141.96 per unit. Total of 65 deals were made. Weighted average dollar exchange rate equaled to KZT141.95 (+0.07) per unit. Volume of the session - $7.010 mln (+$2.185 mln). Exchange rate fluctuation during the trade - 0.02%. The trades were closed at KZT141.94/95 per dollar. Today the market conjuncture shifted slightly towards an increase in demand for the U.S. dollars from the banks of the second tier. Though, no significant increases in the volumes of the purchases were registered. Simply, most of the dealers took one sided position with respect to the American currency, preferring demand to the supply. Modest growth in the exchange rate of USD by the results of the trades was ensured by supply of practically a single seller (90% of all sales today), thanks to whom the market was kept balanced at KZT141.95 per dollar level. The results of the trades has left the impression of a balanced market that settled at more higher level than it did yesterday. It seems as if the dealers did their best in the main session. Quotations of the dollar in the additional session and on interbank market remain below the level attained in the morning trades of KASE. And overnight rates hiked again. One hour after closing of the morning session on interbank market of Kazakhstan dollar was quoted at KZT141.90/96 per unit. Two hours later - KZT141.91/95. In the day session of KASE with TOD payment terms at 12:30PM the dollar was at KZT141.90/95. Deutsche mark, morning session, TOD: no deals. Closing offer - KZT72.00 for mark, no demand. Euro, morning session, TOD: 1 deal, price - KZT137.40 (+0.95) per unit, volume - EUR10 (-200) th. Closing quotations- KZT137.23/40 for euro.
