At KASE supply of dollars keeps growing, the market has stabilized

/IRBIS, March 14, 00/ - Today the next morning trades in U.S. dollars, Deutsche marks and euros were held at Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE) with TOD payment terms. 19 banks participated in the trades. Today the trades in U.S. dollars opened at KZT141.40 per unit. Total of 128 deals were made. Weighted average dollar exchange rate equaled to KZT141.34 (-0.15) per unit. Volume of the session - $4.440 mln (-$805 th.). Exchange rate fluctuation during the trade - 0.07%. The trades were closed at KZT141.34/35 per dollar. Today trades demonstrated a balanced market of the American currency. Demand of BST did not decrease compared to yesterday. Banks are still interested in buying U.S. dollars. But quite a large volume of supplies from several participants has appeared on the floor. It is possible that the banks were fulfilling the orders of their clients, including the exporters. This circumstance helped to neutralize the demand completely. The market was volatile and "thin". The exchange rate of the dollar has changed its direction within KZT141.32 - 141.36 per unit interval. As the session was coming to its end fluctuation range was narrowing due to a growth in support level. At the same time resistance level at KZT141.36 remained solid throughout the session. In general, today currency market did not differ much from that of yesterday. After closing of the main trades at KASE, as it was yesterday, indicative interbank quotations again showed a slight firming of the tenge. One hour after closing of the morning session on interbank market of Kazakhstan dollar was quoted at KZT141.30/34 per unit. Two hours later - KZT141.32/37. In the day session of KASE with TOD payment terms at 12:30PM the dollar was at KZT141.31/35. Deutsche mark, morning session, TOD: no deals. Closing demand - KZT69.80 for mark, no offer. Euro, morning session, TOD: 4 deals, weighted average - 136.45 (+0.27) tenge per unit, volume - EUR210 (+75) th. Closing quotations- KZT136.20/60 for euro.
