/IRBIS, March 13, 00/ - Today the next morning trades in U.S. dollars, Deutsche marks and euros were held at Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE) with TOD payment terms. 21 banks participated in the trades. Today the trades in U.S. dollars opened at KZT141.48 per unit. Total of 98 deals were made. Weighted average dollar exchange rate equaled to KZT141.49 (+0.12) per unit. Volume of the session - $5.245 mln (+$2.760 mln). Exchange rate fluctuation during the trade - 0.03%. The trades were closed at KZT141.45/46 per dollar. As the specialists of the agency IRBIS assumed, today demand of the banks of the second tier (BST) increased. Short term liquidity of the operators has been restored, and they were ready to buy the dollars actively at growing prices. However, no noticeable growth in the exchange rate of the American currency was achieved during the trades. Everything was limited to a strong opening of the market. Large volume of dollar sales, originated from one of the participants at the beginning of the trades, has stabilized the market at KZT141.49 - 141.50 per dollar. When another two active sellers joined the trades later on, it caused supply to overbalance demand, and thanks to it, the exchange rate of the dollar quickly began to fall, starting from the 30th minute of the session. It is possible that part of the dollars sold today were export earnings of the bank clients. It is hard to say about any principal changes in the conjuncture of the market for the U.S. dollar. Traders are still inclined towards the growth in the exchange rate. The market is active. And only essential volume of currency supply from several participants did not let the exchange rate to get more higher. One hour after closing of the morning session on interbank market of Kazakhstan dollar was quoted at KZT141.35/40 per unit. Two hours later - KZT141.32/37.
