/IRBIS, March 10, 00/ - PRIME-TASS informs, with the reference to the
ambassador of Lithuania to Kazakhstan Virgilius Bulovas, that the
documents on transportation of 3 mln Kazakhstani oil to Lithuania will be
signed at the meeting of governmental commissions of two countries in April,
2000.
The ambassador says they would make an agreement on exports of about 3
mln tons of oil, though Lithuania needs about 6 mln tons for domestic
consumption and 6-8 mln tons could be exported to the West through sea
terminals of Klaipeda port. It is said production volumes are sharply shrinking
on North sea, therefore Lithuania hopes to cooperate with Kazakhstan and
Russia in oil business.
