At KASE the USD market is without principal changes

/IRBIS, March 7, 00/ - Today the next morning trades in U.S. dollars, Deutsche marks and euros were held at Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE) with TOD payment terms. 17 banks participated in the trades. Today the trades in U.S. dollars opened at KZT141.12 per unit. Total of 88 deals were made. Weighted average dollar exchange rate equaled to KZT141.11 (+0.04) per unit. Volume of the session - $3.830 mln (-$1.400 mln). Exchange rate fluctuation during the trade - 0.04%. The trades were closed at KZT141.12/13 per dollar. The market conjuncture did not change much today. On demand the banks are still more active and have a great interest in buying dollars. This fact helped the dealers to raise the market in the first minutes of the trades up to KZT141.12 per dollar with minimum amount of deals. But the exchange rate of the dollar did not go higher afterwards as a result of recovery of two major dealers of the trades that were selling the American currency. Their supplies of dollars were sufficient to satisfy the demand during the remaining part of the session, where the dollar was traded within KZT141.10 - 141.12 per unit interval. One hour after closing of the morning session on interbank market of Kazakhstan dollar was quoted at KZT141.10/16 per unit. Two hours later - KZT141.10/15. In the day session of KASE with TOD payment terms at 12:30PM the dollar was at KZT141.11/14. Deutsche mark, morning session, TOD: no deals were made. Closing demand- KZT69.22 for mark, no offer. Euro, morning session, TOD: no deals were made. Closing quotations were absent.
