/IRBIS, March 3, 00/ - PRIME-TASS informs, with the reference to
Bloomberg, that in February OPEC countries increased oil production 1.9%,
up to 26.6 mln barrels a day.
The representatives of the organization believe that OPEC countries
understand the necessity of increasing oil production as soon as possible.
It is said non-observance of current quotas is sort of an increase in oil
production.
Oil prices fell under recent statements of some oil producers on the need to
increase the production. April futures went down 1.3%, to $28.85 per barrel
in London, and then gained up to $29.12 per barrel, while in New York oil
went down 0.6%, to $31.5 per barrel.
