/IRBIS, March 3, 00/ - Today the next morning trades in U.S. dollars, Deutsche marks and euros were held at Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE) with TOD payment terms. 16 banks participated in the trades. Today the trades in U.S. dollars opened at KZT140.90 per unit. Total of 89 deals were made. Weighted average dollar exchange rate equaled to KZT140.84 (-0.01) per unit. Volume of the session - $3.900 mln (+$750 th.). Exchange rate fluctuation during the trade - 0.11%. The trades were closed at KZT140.85/89 per dollar. The dollar market conjuncture practically did not differ from that of yesterday. Short term liquidity of the banks that decreased after a successful placement of SS on Thursday did not let them to create a significant demand on today's trades. Strong opening of the market and further speculative upward game was not supported by the dealers during the first minutes of the session. As a result, the dollar exchange rate quickly fell down to the minimal level of today's trades - KZT140.80 per unit. Subsequent activation of the buyers supported by large volumes of sales from two traders stimulated the growth in the price of the American currency, which slowly with some downward corrections reached the levels a little higher than closing parameters of previous session. It should be noted that a decrease in the price of the dollar by the results of the session was caused exclusively by strong opening of the market and low activity of the buyers at the beginning of the trades, which has also affected broadening of the fluctuation of the dollar exchange rate. One hour after closing of the morning session on interbank market of Kazakhstan dollar was quoted at KZT140.84/94 per unit. Two hours later - KZT140.86/94. In the day session of KASE with TOD payment terms at 12:30PM the dollar was at KZT140.86/94. Deutsche mark, morning session, TOD: no deals were made. Closing demand - KZT69.50 for mark, no offer. Euro, morning session, TOD: no deals were made. Closing quotations were absent.
