Kazakhstani post to hold $13.8 mln worth of modernization projects tenders in late March

/IRBIS, Feb.29, 00/ - PRIME-TASS informs, with the reference the chairman of "Kazpost" Orazaly Erjanov, that Kazakhstani OJSC "Kazpost" will hold tenders for the projects on computerization of Kazakhstani postal network and on renewal of vehicles for 10.4 mln U.S. dollars and 3.4 mln dollars, respectively. Islamic development bank is ready to grant $9 mln 10 year loan at 11 APR under the government guarantee, he said. He also said from March 1 "Kazpost" will be responsible for paying off salaries, pensions and allowances instead of Halyk savings bank. These payments currently amount to KZT12 bln /$1 - KZT140.4/ and are handled by Halyk savings bank. Soon OJSC "Kazpost" will be able to accumulate the deposits of the population and not only deliver mail, chairman said. Last year turnover of Kazakhstani post reached KZT2.5 bln. It is expected to exceed KZT4 bln this year.
