In January–April 2014 volume of foreign currency traded on KASE increased 2.3 times and made up KZT10.4 trln (USD59.8 bn)

/KASE, May 6, 14/ – In January–April 2014 the volume of foreign currencies traded on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), including currency swaps transactions, reached KZT10,359.8 bn (equivalent to USD59,809.8 m) and increased against the same period of 2013 by 2.3 times (2.0 times in USD). In comparison with the previous four month period (September–December 2013) the volume of trades increased by 48.1 % (38.3 % in dollar terms). During the first three months of 2014 tenge devalued 18.17 % to the US dollar in nominal terms In 2013 the tenge devalued 1.58 % to the US dollar in nominal terms.
