/IRBIS, Jan.31, 00/ - According to REUTERS, at closing of the interbank currency market of Kazakhstan on January 26 tenge quotations towards US dollar equaled 139.33/36 tenge per dollar. Compared to the results of the previous day tenge increased by 6 point against US dollar on demand and by 7 points on supply. In main (morning) session weighted average rate of the dollar with TOD terms equaled 139.38 (0) tenge per dollar and closing quotations of 139.37/39. The dollar quotations at closing of the additional day session under the TOD accounts (3:00 p.m. Almaty time) have made 139.32/37 tenge for dollar. Dollar on evening trades by accounts TOM and SPT was not quoted. Demand and supply dollar prices remained today stable and were somewhat less than Exchange's. The spreads did not exceed 3-4 points. By the market indicators, the Kazakhstan dollar market more and more becomes sluggish, which is characteristic to February and beginning of March. KASE market is sluggish especially. However volumes of transactions are reducing in the interbank market also. The dealers mood is determined now not by an expectation, but by a sufficiency in the market both tenge and US dollar. It is impossible now to push the market to an expressed rate change. Dollar as a financial tool loses it appeal. The IRBIS experts do not expect any essential changes at the Thursday's trades, but the minimum tenge strengthening is possible.
