27.01.00 00:00
/IRBIS, Jan.27, 00/ - The morning trades in US dollar, Deutsche mark and
Euro were held at Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE) with TOD payment
terms. 13 banks participated in the trades.
Today the trades in US dollars opened at 139.50 tenge per unit. Total of 37
deals were made. Weighted average dollar exchange rate equaled to 139.39
(-0.01) tenge per unit. Volume of the session - $385 th. (-$5.830 mln).
Exchange rate fluctuation during the trade - 0.09%. The trades were closed
at 139.38/39 tenge per dollar.
Activity of the banks has decreased to the minimum again. Usual favorites of
the market, including Exchange's market-maker of the U.S. dollar, did not
make deals today. Most of the currency turnover is out of KASE, in interbank
market. However, even there, based on quotations, the activity is not high
now, because demand and supply is close to an equilibrium. Spreads are
low, speculative potential of the dollar is limited.
Demand and supply parity was found within 139.38 - 139.40 tenge per dollar
range on today's session.
One hour after closing of the morning session on interbank market of
Kazakhstan dollar was quoted at 139.37/39 tenge per unit, two hours later
quotations did not change. In the day session of KASE with TOD payment
terms at 1:00PM the dollar was at 139.35/40.

71.28 tenge for mark, no offer.
