Growth in prices of industrial producers reached 57.2% in 1999

/IRBIS, Jan.19, 00/ - REUTERS informs, with the reference to the Statistics
agency of Kazakhstan, that in 1999 prices of industrial producers, including
industrial services, rose 57.2% compared with 5.5% decline in 1998.
Prices of industrial goods rose 60%, and industrial services rose 9%.
"Dominant factor, which influenced the growth in prices of the industry, was
the inflation of industry overheads, since prices for intermediate goods rose
at faster paces (average of 4.4% a month), for consumer goods rose 1.2%,
production means - 0.7%", reads monthly report of the agency.
95.5% increase in prices was also observed in mining industry. In processing
industry - 58.7%, production and distribution of electricity, gas and water -
3.7%.
