Oil price has stabilized, Indonesia supports prolongation of limitations till September

/IRBIS, Jan.13, 00/ - The world oil prices continue to remain stable, OPEC
members are confident in the ability to control a market. Today morning at
the opening of London International Petroleum Exchange the Brent barrel
price has grown by 3 cents to $24.84.
As ITAR TASS informs, more significant growth is observed today for light
sorts of oil on the Asian markets - to $26.32.
Next session OPEC will be hold on March 27. the final solution concerning
production limits will be make there. Very likely, OPEC is adjusted to
continue the oil export containment. So, the oil minister of Indonesia has
declared today, that "it would be desirable to save the present production
quotas till September".
Today important confidential meeting of the oil ministers of Saudi Arabia and
Venezuela is held in Amsterdam. The sources close to these two key oil-
extracting countries inform that they supports an extension of the present
limitations.
Just these countries initiated in the spring of 1999 the solutions, which have
resulted in doubling of oil prices. The petroleum market informed sources
have informed ITAR TASS, that the OPEC purpose is to keep the oil price at
the level of 25 dollars per barrel.
