USD/KZT at closing of the day - 138.59/67 (indicators)

/IRBIS, Jan.06, 00/ - According to REUTERS, at closing of interbank currency market of Kazakhstan on January 06 tenge quotations towards US dollar equaled 138.59/67 tenge per dollar. Compared to the results of the previous day tenge lost 24 points against US dollar on demand and gained 8 points on supply. In main (morning) session weighted average rate of the dollar with TOD terms equaled 138.59 (+0.34) tenge per dollar and closing quotations - 138.60/62. At closing of additional day session with TOD terms dollar was quoted at 138.58/63 tenge per unit. Quotations were absent on the evening trades with TOM and SPT terms. Today dollar quotations in interbank market did not show any trend. Some afternoon growth in USD offer price should not be considered a real weakening of tenge, dealers hoped for the best. Spreads grew throughout the day, reaching 8 points by its end, with 3 points at closing of the exchange. It can be said for sure the situation is currency market of the country remains stable despite sufficiency of free funds on correspondent accounts of the banks. No principal changes were observed from closing days of the last year. Analyzing the current situation IRBIS specialists are inclined to assume the exchange rate of the dollar will continue to grow on Friday's trades with a slow pace, which will certainly be more slower than it was today.
