/IRBIS, Dec.23, 99/ - The morning trades in US dollar, Deutsche mark and
Euro were held at Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE) with TOD payment
terms. 17 banks participated in the trades.

The exchange market of the dollar was almost illiquid. Major operators were
absent on the trade floor. Most of the currency market turnover went into

met the criteria of "a thin" volatile market with its bi-directional
fluctuations, small deals and low monopolization degree.
In general, the trade results show that despite insignificant volume of the
session, weighted average dollar rate of the Exchange is still indicative and
reflect the balance of the market.
