/IRBIS, Dec.22, 99/ - According to REUTERS, at closing of interbank
currency market of Kazakhstan on December 22 tenge quotations towards
U.S. dollar equaled 138.05/09 tenge per dollar.
Compared to the results of the previous day tenge increased by 8 points
against US dollar on demand and by 10 points on supply.
In main (morning) session weighted average rate of the dollar with TOD
terms equaled 138.25 (+0.13) tenge per dollar and closing quotations -
138.20/22.
The dollar quotations at the closing of additional day session under the TOD
accounts and at the closing f evening trades under the TOM and SPT
accounts were absent.
The situation in the interbank market was somewhat changed today in
comparison with the last days. The dollar quotations begun to decrease at
once after Exchange's trades closing. Such a tendency was been also
observed during the second half of exchange trade. The speed of the dollar
quotations reduction grew towards the day closing. The dollar rate stabilized
only in the last trade hour.
The spreads varied today from 3 to 5 points, remaining nearly yesterday's
values.
In the IRBIS' experts opinion, changes of the today's dollar quotations will
affect the dealers behavior in the Thursday's interbank trades. Therefore
tenge strengthening on KASE tomorrow looks rather probable. The market
does not change remarkable. There are some only insignificant rates
oscillations.
