Net amount of pension assets in Kazakhstan as of early December - $433.9 mln, NSC

/IRBIS, Dec.15, 99/ - By data of the National securities commission (NSC) of Kazakhstan net amount of pension assets (PA) in the country (total pension assets less liabilities on accrued commissions, accounts payable to pension payments) as of December 01, 1999 reached 59,903.5 mln tenge or $433.9 mln at weighted average rate of the Currency exchange for that date. Comparable figure for November 01 - 58,401.7 mln tenge or $417.1 mln. Assets grew 2.5% in terms of tenge and 3.9% in terms of currency within a month. For last month growth was 2.6% and 1.2%, respectively. At the beginning of December total amount of PA reached 59,894.5 mln tenge, of which 59,105.4 mln was invested. Portion of SAPF's assets fell to 53.3% from 53.8% a month ago. Total of seven PAMCs work in Kazakhstan, 14 private and one state APF. Following is the distribution of assets invested in financial instruments (in parentheses - comparable figure for November 01): - domestic SS of the Ministry of finance (KZT) - 2.04% (1.04%); - domestic SS of the Ministry of finance (USD) - 53.61% (54.14%); - eurobonds of Kazakhstan's sovereign debt (USD) - 37.80% (38.81%); - notes of the National Bank (KZT) - 2.22% (0.04%); - notes of the National Bank (USD) - 0.04% (1.55%); - bonds of local executive bodies of Kazakhstan (USD) - 0.08% (0.09%); - private securities (KZT) - 0.27% (0.27%); - private securities (foreign currency) - 2.77% (2.90%); - deposits and CDs (KZT) - 0.11% (0.22%); - deposits and CDs(foreign currency) - 1.06% (0.94%).
