USD/KZT at closing of the day - 138.33/43 (indicators)

/IRBIS, Dec.08, 99/ - According to REUTERS, at closing of interbank currency market of Kazakhstan on December 08 tenge quotations towards US dollar equaled 138.33/43 tenge per dollar. Compared to the results of the previous day tenge lost 9 points against US dollar both on demand and supply. In main (morning) session weighted average rate of the dollar with TOD terms equaled 138.37 (+0.01) tenge per dollar and closing quotations - 138.37/38. At closing of additional day session with TOD terms and the evening trades with TOM and SPT terms dollar was not quoted. Today the dollar was firming in interbank market all day long after closing of the Exchange trades. Spreads remained unchanged at 10 points at that. Analyzing the market situation, IRBIS specialists believe that Exchange's rate of USD will not change significantly in Thursday's trades. Large volume of repayment (more than 5 bln tenge) for state securities this week will stimulate demand of the banks of the second tier for dollars. As a result, tenge has more chances to loose than to gain.
