Dollar market on KASE, no principal changes

/IRBIS, Dec.8, 99/ - The morning trades in US dollar, Deutsche mark and Euro were held at Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE) with TOD payment terms. 20 banks participated in the trades. Today the trades in US dollars opened at 138.34 tenge per unit. Total of 76 deals were made. Weighted average dollar exchange rate equaled to 138.37 (+0.01) tenge per unit. Volume of the session - $2,090 mln (-$815 thousand). Exchange rate fluctuation during the trade did not exceed 0.04%. The trades were closed at 138.37/38 tenge per dollar. Today the market conjuncture was practically identical to that of yesterday. As expected, banks were not able to make a great demand. Most of the buyers of dollars restricted themselves with small operations, not exceeding 60 thousand dollars on average. Out of eight banks, offering dollars, one accounted for 60% of total sales. The degree of supply monopolization is still high. It should be noted, that in the first half of the session trades were mainly conducted at 138.34 tenge per dollar. But in last 10 minutes the market shifted to 138.37 - 138.38 corridor, where most of the remaining operations were held. The results of the session indicate a balanced exchange market for the dollar in Kazakhstan. One hour after closing of the morning session on interbank market of Kazakhstan dollar was quoted at 138.33/38 tenge per unit, two hours later - 138.27/37. In the day session of KASE with TOD payment terms at 1:00PM the dollar was not quoted. Deutsche mark, morning session, TOD: no deals. At closing of the session Deutsche mark was quoted at 72.55/89 tenge for mark. Euro, morning session, TOD: no deals. At closing of the session euro was asked for 141.20 tenge for mark, offer was absent.
