USD/KZT at closing of the day - 137.71/81 (indicators)

/IRBIS, Nov.29, 99/ - According to REUTERS, at closing of interbank currency market of Kazakhstan on November 29 tenge quotations towards US dollar equaled 137.71/81 tenge per dollar. Compared to the results of the previous day tenge lost 1 point on demand against US dollar and 5 points on supply. On main (morning) session weighted average rate of the dollar with TOD terms equaled 137.73 (+0.06) tenge per dollar and closing quotations - 137.70/71. At closing of additional day session in USD quotations with TOD terms were fixed at 137.70/80 tenge per unit. At closing of the evening session in USD quotations with TOM terms were 137.55/138.05 tenge per unit, with SPT - 136.80/138.40. Afternoon quotations of the dollar on interbank and exchange market did not show any explicit trends. Spreads, as usually, were around the average rate of the Exchange. As the dealers say, the market was less active today. Dollar quotations with TOM and SPT terms also did let observe a trend: weighted average rate of the dollar of the main session was about the mean between offer and bid prices. Rates of interbank "overnight" deposits are at 2/5 APR. Demand for short money is insignificant. No deals were made in repo sector of KASE. In IRBIS analysts opinion, dynamics of market indicators show that the market is balanced. Tenge has equal chances of firming against the dollar on the main session and losing some ten points. Taking into account volatility of the market, 20 point upward or downward fluctuations should be considered sensitivity level for even the shortest forecast.
