In Kazakhstan monetarization level reached 8% in October, 1999 - National Bank

/IRBIS, Nov.29, 99/ - Kazakhstan's monetarization level in third quarter of
1999 reached eight percent against seven percents of comparable period of
last year, says research and statistics department of the National Bank.
According to the review of the National Bank, net external assets grew to
217.499 bln tenge in October from 197.879 bln tenge in September,
including, monetary gold and SDR - 69.950 bln tenge against 70.957 bln
tenge in September.
Cash foreign currency in banking system of Kazakhstan decreased to
12.981 bln tenge in October from 14.952 bln tenge in September, deposits
grew to 80.021 bln tenge from 75.211 bln tenge in September, loans also
rose to 74.502 bln tenge from 55.036 bln tenge, securities, excluding shares
amounted to 78.135 bln tenge compared with 76.800 bln tenge in last month.
Net receivables from the government equaled 18.339 bln tenge in October
relative to 35.029 bln tenge in September, receivables from non-banking
financial organizations amounted to 15.882 bln tenge in October, from non-
financial organizations - 146.715 bln tenge.
