/IRBIS, Nov.25, 99/ - According to REUTERS, at closing of interbank currency market of Kazakhstan on November 25 tenge quotations towards US dollar made 137.80/90 tenge per dollar with the Exchange's weighted average price of 137.78 (+0.02) and the quotations at closing of the Exchange's session of 137.77/78. Compared to the results of the previous day tenge gained 20 points on demand against US dollar and 30 points on supply. Today, as it was yesterday, a little growth in quotations of the dollar was observed till the mid of the day on interbank market. Close to the evening price of an American currency began to fall gradually. Spreads did not differ from that of yesterday's, ranging from 7 to 30 points. Demand for short money remains within normal market levels, which is proved by a stability of interbank "overnight" deposit rates (2/6.5 APR). In IRBIS specialists' opinion, possibility of a significant change in the market situation in near term is very low. Trades on Friday at KASE will probably went on with a slight firming of the dollar because of insufficient supply volume and excessive liquidity of the tenge. However, ultimate volatility of the market should not be left out. The market is "thin", and is prone to speculative moves, surprises. Possibility of a little strengthening of tenge should not be eliminated completely.
