/IRBIS, Nov.05, 99/ - According to REUTERS, at the moment of closing of
Kazakhstan's OTC-market on November 04 tenge/dollar quotations has
made 140.28/33 tenge per dollar at the average weighted exchange rate
140.35 (+0.24) and session closing quotations of 140.20/21.
By the dealers interbank quotations, tenge as against of the previous day
closing decreased by 6 points on demand and by 1 point on supply.
The dollar quotations in the interbank market of Kazakhstan after relative
stability observed during a day, increased a little by closing. But, despite
of it, the exchange weighted average dollar rate was bidder. The tendency of
dollar strengthening on KASE's trades was not continued on the interbank
market in the second half of day.
The spreads varied today from 5 to 15 points at average 8. The quotations of
the short money in the interbank market testify to sufficiency of means on the
banks accounts.
The market still expects the cancellation of obligatory sale of the exporters'
proceeds on KASE. However quotations of dollar after dinner have shown,
that in do not provoke the dollar rush. The dealers have managed no more
than to rise somewhat a market rate of dollar.
The day's feature is the result of devaluation indexed note-21 placement.
Demand has exceeded $13 million. The investors were sure, that the
National Bank will not change the rate, which on the previous auctions made
7.31% p.a. in a hard currency expression. Just this was fixed as average on
all applications. But the emitter offered at the additional placement 7.14%,
and attracted only $5 millions.
The high interest to the hard currency notes shows a growth of devaluation
expectations. The market actively reacts to change of the dollar rate in the
last two days.
The Monday market forecast is inconsistent. The market indicators show
possibility of high opening of trades in dollar on KASE. Probability that the
dollar will increase by some points is rather high.
