About merge of programs of depositary receipts of "KAZAHTELEKOM" (Kazakhstan)

/IRBIS, Nov.02, 99/ - According to the information of KAZKOMMERTSBANK (bank - custodian under the programs of the Kazakhstan emitters' depositary receipts) bank - depositary The Bank of New York merged two programs of the depositary receipts: KAZAHTELEKOM (Almaty, official list of securities KASE, "A" category) Reg S (CUSIP# 48666D204, ISIN# US 48666D2045) and Level-I (CUSIP# 48666D303, ISIN# US 48666D3035) in the uniform program named Level-I (CUSIP# 48666D204, ISIN# US 48666D2045). Quoting of the KAZAHTELEKOM depositary receipts on the Berlin stock exchange began in April, 1998 and proceeds till now. The absence of the quotations from October 11 till October 13 of the current year is explained by the mentioned merger. According to the KAZKOMMERTSBANK official statement, a new symbol for the KAZAHTELEKOM depositary receipts is KZHXY.
