The 38th Symposium is devoted to issues of a renaissance of the UK's nuclear power industry, prospects of development of China's nuclear industry, as well as to the future of the US nuclear power industry. The symposium will last 3 days. During the event heads of major enterprises of the nuclear industry will discuss issues of development of accompanying industries, development trends of the nuclear fuel cycle, economic aspects of activities of nuclear companies, education and competencies in the nuclear industry. Particular sessions are devoted to safety issues and public perception of the nuclear industry. The symposium is also attended by representatives of enterprises being part of Kazatomprom – Ulba metallurgy plant JSC, Mining company LLP, Karatau LLP. The symposium is the traditional floor for exchange of opinions on actual issues and discussion of cooperation prospects. This year during the symposium meetings are planned between CEO of Kazatomprom and main partners – President and CEO of Cameco Corporation Tim Gitzel, President and CEO, Head of Managing Board of AREVA Luc Ursel. Also, Vladimir Shkolnik will for the first time meet with the new head of Cavendish laboratory of Cambridge University Andrew Parker for discussion of plans for joint research projects in the field of physics and chemistry being implemented in accordance with the previously signed Declaration of Kazatomprom's intentions to render financial support to KVRK and Cavendish laboratory.
