/IRBIS, Oct.18, 99/ - Today on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) the
first 8 transactions in the five-years Kazakhstan's Euronotes of the third
issue (XS0102764031, trade code ENU04.10) were conducted. From the
operators' activity, the market of Kazakhstan waited this tool and was
prepared to its appearance. Volume of the transactions has reached $2.790
million (nominal) and 389.2 million tenges (discount). The yield of the
buyer varied from 13.66% to 13.97%, that corresponds to the net prices of
98.97 - 99.89%.
According to ISMA, in the world market these bonds were quoted on Friday
at a level of 99.00 / 99.38%, at the September 27 placement in London the
discount has made 98.87%.
Euronotes have the 13.625% coupon, which is paid two times per year,
13.946% annual yield and were placed with the spread of 825 basic points in
relation to synchronous USA T-bills.
Today this tool is practically beyond comparison for the Pension Funds of
Kazakhstan, considering potential of yield, investment risk and "net" dollar
denomination. Just this circumstance, in opinion of the IRBIS analysts,
explains high activity of the first conducted trades.
More profitable bonds of Mangystau oblast are served in tenge, their emitter
has not a credit rating, has not practically a credit history, and volume of
the issue is insignificant. KAZKOMMERTS INTERNATIONAL B.V euronotes, as
it was informed earlier, were removed from the KASE's listing by the decision
of Exchange Board of September 28 1999 according to the emitter request.
