USD/KZT at the day closing - 140.40/60 (indicators)

/IRBIS, Oct.15, 99/ - According to REUTERS, at the moment of October 15 Kazakhstan's OTC-market closing tenge/dollar quotations has made 140.40/60 tenge per dollar at the average weighted exchange rate of 140.84 (-0.11) and session closing quotations of 140.83/85. By the dealers interbank quotations, tenge as against of the previous day closing increased by 59 points on demand and by 41 points on supply. Spreads of the interbank quotations varied from 20 to 35 points at average 24. It is considerable increase as against to the previous day. As well as yesterday, the overnight interbank tenge deposits rates decreased during the day affected by the State Securities redemption. The closing quotation were: 6% p.a. (demand) / 134% p.a.(supply). To all appearances it is too early to speak about the banks liquidity restoration. Small volume of the State Securities redemption did not add to market participants required means to open long dollar positions. The demand remains weak in comparison with supply. The IRBIS's forecast for Monday: continuation of tenge strengthening with the same speed.
