/IRBIS, Oct.13, 99/ - While Central elections committee (CEC) in
Kazakhstan counts votes of the electorate, sociologists of Kazakhstan
(Association of sociologists and politologists of Almaty - ASAP) produced
their own results of the elections, which are based on public-opinion poll at
election sites. With the help of Soros foundation 176,491 voters were polled
in 16 cities of Kazakhstan.
Poll results are given below in percents of the total number of voters:
- Communist party - 27.7%;
-
party - 16.0%;
- Civilian party - 12.3%;
- Agricultural party - 8.8%;
- party - 8.4%.
Unofficial data of the voting, obtained by journalists of REUTERS in the
government, show some different disposition. Based on these data
leads the way (30.5%), and the communists have only 17.8% of votes.
Passions are inflamed around sluggishness of CEC. Opposition and
sociologists believe that the authorities are not satisfied with the results
of the elections and trying to falsify them.
OSEC has already stated that serious violations took place during the
election campaign in Kazakhstan.
The president of Association of Mass media Rozlana Taukina believes, as
REUTERS informs, that state controlled Mass media in Kazakhstan was
forbidden to publish any data of ASAP.
