During his work visit K. Bektemirov conducted a working meeting and learnt about the progress of the long-term investment program at EGRES-1 worth over USD1 bn. Implementation of the investment program provides for recovery of two dormant power units, capital overhaul and modernization of five operative power units and the general facilities, setting up of cleaning electric filters. Under the program of modernizing the entire energy facility of the stations the project of reconstruction of the chemical water purification is implemented. In the course of water purifying unit reconstruction a switch to new membrane technologies will be carried out, which not only will substantially increase the reliability of the purifying unit, but also will reduce operating costs. The quality of the purified water will improve – the water will become softer and more conducting. Also implementation of the program on setting up highly efficient cleaning electric filters of the new generation will be continued at all power units of the station. In 2013 electric filters will be mounted on power units No. 3 and No. 7, thus already by 2014 electric filters will be available on all operational power units. This will reduce the dustiness of smoke. "The work on modernization of the power units at Ekibastuz GRES-1 is implemented on schedule.
