The Board welcomes the extension, made in response to a request from the bidding Consortium, which should provide time for discussions to continue and allow the Consortium to put a formal proposal for the Independent Committee and hareholders of ENRC, including Kazakhmys, to consider. In the event that a formal proposal is made, the Board will make its decision in the best interests of all Kazakhmys shareholders and any acceptance of a proposal will be subject to the approval of Kazakhmys' shareholders.
