KAZKOMMERTSBANK is listed on the London Stock Exchange

/IRBIS, Sep.23, 99/ - Regulation S Global Depositary Receipts (GDR) of
KAZKOMMERTSBANK (Almaty, Official List of KASE, category "A") were
included into the Official List of the London Stock Exchange, is stated in
the official press release of the KAZKOMMERTSBANK. The Bank has become the
first and the only company out of the Central Asia to be listed on the world
biggest Exchange.
In 1997 KAZKOMMERTSBANK became the first corporate out of the Central
Asian to issue Rule 144A ADRs and Regulation S GDRs which have been listed
on the Parallel Market of the Istanbul Stock Exchange since autumn 1997 and
are traded on the OTC markets in London, Frankfurt and Berlin (no quotation
were made since September 1998 on the London Exchange - note of IRBIS).
KAZKOMMERTSBANK is the largest bank in Kazakhstan when ranked by assets
and equity capital (According to report granted to KASE under a listing
requirement, Bank's assets - 65.9 billion tenges, equity capital - 8.5
billion tenges - note of IRBIS). Currently, international investors hold
over 32% of KAZKOMMERTSBANK's share capital. Bank is rated by Standard &
Poor's, Fitch-IBCA, Moody's and Thomson Financial BankWatch.
KAZKOMMERTSBANK is the only Central Asian bank, having issued US$100
million 3 year Eurobond (May 8, 1998 - note of IRBIS).
