Alliance Bank (Kazakhstan) announces FY2012 results

/KASE, April 2, 13/ – JSC "Alliance Bank" (Almaty), whose securities are officially listed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), has provided KASE with the following press-release of April 2, 2013: quote JSC "Alliance Bank" has published results of the Banks' activities in 2012 according to the IFRS. The equity according to the IFRS equaled KZT11,147 mln as of December 31, 2012 increasing by KZT10,115 mln (980%) upon 2011. Alliance Bank's net income made up KZT640 mln. The revenues came mainly from operating activities including the increasing performing loan portfolio and volume of operations. The Bank's assets rose by KZT60 bn upon 2011 and made up KZT590 bn by the end of the year. The Bank's liabilities rose by KZT50 bn since the beginning of the year making up KZT578,862 mln. The loan portfolio increased by KZT60 bn over the past year, making up KZT388,930 mln (18 % increase). The Bank's deposit portfolio made up KZT337,238 mln, increasing by KZT43 bn (14.6 % increase) since the beginning of the year. CEO of Alliance Bank Maksat Kabashev comments on the Bank's last year's results: "The most important indicators of last year were the rise of the Bank's equity by over KZT10 bn and increase in the loan and deposit portfolios. Two digit figures reflecting the growth of portfolios is an evidence of the successful business model the Banks uses. It is worth noting that in 2011 the Bank conducted a series of unique transactions: selling of a pool of distressed assets, buyback of own liabilities, reducing the dividend on preferred shares. In addition in 2011 the Bank recognized the deferred tax asset worth about KZT18 bn. All that produced high profitability indicators according to the IFRS. In this regard the year 2012 was a year of routine but good operations. And on the whole we are happy with the result – the main thing is that the Bank sustainably generates income".
