In January – February 2013 volume of foreign currency trade on KASE increased by 26.3 % and made up KZT2.3 trln ($15.5 bn)

/KASE, March 5, 13/ – In January – February 2013 the volume of foreign currencies traded on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), including currency swap transactions, made up KZT2,328.8 bn (equivalent of USD15,465.4 m) increasing by 26.3 % (24.4 % in USD terms) against the same period of 2012. In comparison with the previous two month period (November–December 2012) the trading volume decreased by 14.1 % (14.5 % in USD terms). Tenge reinforced against dollar on weighted average exchange rate in the current year by 1.46 % APR. In the first two months of 2013 the revaluation rate of tenge to US dollar in nominal terms made up 0.25 %. In 2012 tenge devalued to US dollar by 1.58 % in nominal terms.
