Samruk-Energo (Kazakhstan) announces Y2012 operating results

/KASE, February 27, 13/ – JSC "Samruk-Energo" (Astana), whose bonds are
officially listed at Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), today provided KASE
with the following press-release:

Operations of JSC "Samruk-Energo" in the power industry and coal mining in
January-December 2012 run in normal mode. The targeted production volumes
were met across the company.
The volume of electricity produced in 12 months of 2012 made up 14,528 m
kWt/h, exceeding last year's figures by 8% or 1,131 m kWt/h, on account of
commissioning of new units at Moinak hydro power station and an increase in
volumes of electricity generated at JSC "ZGRES" and JSC "Ekibastuz GRES-2".
The volume of electricity transmitted made up 8,395 m kWt/h, increasing by 5 %
or 433 m kWt/h compared to 2011 due to an increase in consumers' applications.
The volume of electricity sold made up 5,626 m kWt/h, increasing by 6 %, or
296 m kWt/h, upon 2011 due the higher consumption of electricity.
The volume of coal produced by LLP "Bogatyr Komir" during the reported period
made up 44.0 m tons, exceeding last year's production level by 8%, or 3.4 m
tons. Also, the volume of coal sold increased by 5% or 2.0 m tons and made up
43.2 m tons.
On the whole the combined consolidated income of the company in January –
December 2012 made up KZT100,850.3 m, which is 15 % higher than last year's
figures following an increase in the production volumes.
The consolidated net income in 12 months of 2012 made up KZT17,955.0 m.
