KASE: situatyion on the dollar trades did not change

/IRBIS, Sep.17, 99/ - The next trades with US dollar, Deutsche mark and
Euro were held on KASE. 26 banks participated in the trades.
Today US dollar trades were opened at the rate of 135.80 tenge per unit, but
this rate was not realistic. At once, under a great demand influence, dollar
has increased to 135.90. Than, about one minute later, dollar (ordinary
events after fast growth), has decreased to 135.87.
For the second part of tender, as well as yesterday, the equilibrium market
was typical. All demand was satisfied in a price corridor of 135.89 -135.90.
Session closing quotations were 135.89/90.
Total 212 deals were made for USD. An average weighted rate of dollar has
made 135.89 (+ 0,19). Volume of session - $14.030 million (-$1.245
million). Amplitude of fluctuation of rate during trade has reached 0.07%.
One hour later KASE's trade closing, dollar in the interbank market of
Kazakhstan was quoted at a level of 135.90/99, two hour later -
135.91/136.00.
Market conjuncture in comparison with yesterday's practically not changed. It
is possible to assume, that today volume of dollar offered by the exporters
was higher, however, as well as yesterday, there were another, more
important factors of influence.
Banks of the second tier behavior was the another trade's distinctive feature.
Their dealers, seeing the National Bank role, expected decreasing of dollar
rate at the end of tender and waited for the last minutes. And only on the
40th minute they realized that dollar will not be cheaper today and started to
trade. Volume of transaction has reached $7.0 million during the last five
minutes.
No deals were made for deutsche mark. Closing quotation - 72.10/28 tenge
per unit.
One deal was made for Euro at the price of 140.80 tenge per unit. An
average weighted rate has grown by 9 points (+ 0,09 tenge). Volume of
session - EUR100,000 (+EUR20,000). Closing quotation - 140.75/141.00
tenge per unit.
