Eurasian Bank (Kazakhstan) obtains status of principal member of international payment system MasterCard WorldWide

/KASE, January 25, 13/ - JSC "Eurasian Bank" (Almaty), whose bonds are
officially listed at Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), has provided KASE with a
press-release of January 24, 2013:

JSC "Eurasian Bank" has become a principal member of the international payment
system MasterCard WorldWide and obtained a license for issue and service of
cards such as MasterCard and Maestro. Also, the Bank has obtained a license for
service of contact-free cards MasterCard PayPass.
The principal member status is assigned only to rapidly growing financial
institutions with sustainable indicators, high business reputation and
considerable work experience in the card business.
In the first half of the current year Eurasian Bank will undergo the process of
technical certification to meet the requirements of MasterCard WorldWide.
Beginning from the second half of 2013 the Bank will begin issuing, accepting and
processing transactions using cards MasterCard and Maestro. At that, the Bank is
entitled not only to service and issue MasterCard cards, but also to service in it
s own processing center other banks with affiliated membership to the system
MasterCard WorldWide.
"Development of the card business - one of strategic directions fort the Bank this
year. We plan a substantial extension of active cards on account of offering of a
broad range of new card products and a few interesting projects in this field
jointly with partners. Obtaining of the MasterCard member status witnesses of the
seriousness of our plans" - said CEO of Eurasian Bank Michael Eggleton.
Since 2000 the Eurasian Bank is a member of another international payment
system - "VISA International". As of January 22, 2013 the number of active VISA
debit cards issued by Eurasian Bank made up 207,732, credit cards - 1,209.
