/IRBIS, Sep.16, 99/ - Researches, conducted by the "EconoMix Data"
Information agency (Almaty, Kazakhstan) have shown, that conditions in the
Almaty's cash currency market have stabilized after sharp dollar increase
during September 07-09. The past week testifies to it.
The agency "EconoMix Data" specializes in the field of information
concerning cash currency, its data are based on regular interrogation of the
numerous bureau de change of Almaty.
The agency marks that within the last seven days there were no any
excitements in this sector. Tension, caused by the recent dollar jump, has
not reached the level, which could be named "agiotage". At the same time
the agency marks, that demand for cash dollar remains high, population
buys up currency both in large, and in small-sized volumes.
According to the agency's experts opinion, the demand from the population
is determined today not so much by devaluation expectations, as by its
solvency, which is not so great now.
"Sale of dollar is carried out only at emergencies, therefore, mainly,
there are small sums and small denominations", - is spoken in the agency's
review.
It is interesting that the workers of Exchanges wait in the near future of a
new jump of devaluation, and adhere this event to elections planned in
Kazakhstan on October 10. The following jump is predicted in the middle or
end of November, or in the end of December, that is explained by a
traditional seasonal demand for cash dollar.
