USD continues to grow slowly on KASE under influence of not weakening demand

/IRBIS, Sep.15, 99/ - On the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) the next
trades for US dollar, deutsche mark and Euro were held. Twenty-four banks
took a part in trades.
The trades for US dollar have opened today at 135.60 tenge per dollar. At
once after trades opening the sellers using a great demand managed to
raise the market and to the 7th minute of session dollar rate has reached
135.70 tenge.
Than, under influence of fixing of exchange difference by some dealers,
dollar rate rolled back to 135.67. However five minutes later new wave of
demand returned dollar price to 135.70 tenge.
Second half of session passed at equilibrium market. Since 13th minute all
demand has been satisfied in a narrow interval of 135.69-135.70 tenge.
Closing quotation have made 135.69/70 tenge per dollar.
In total 226 transactions were made for USD. The average weighted rate of
dollar has made 135.69 (+ 0.17). Volume of session - $16.055 million
(+$500 million). The amplitude of a rate's fluctuation has reached during the
trade 0.07%.
One hour after KASE's trades closing dollar was quoted in the OTS- market
at a level of 135.70/80 tenge, after two hours - of 135.72/80.
As before, business condition develops under influence of a not weakening
demand from the banks of the second tier and their customers. Volume of
trades steadily grows. In the second half of session the demand for dollar
was completely neutralized by supply, that prevented its faster growth. It
should also be mentioned that supply of the exporters' currency was
practically not traced on the platform today.
For deutsche mark 8 transactions were made. An average weighted rate -
71.95 (-0.43) tenge per DEM. Volume of session - 85,000 DEM, closing
quotation - 71.80/94 tenge.
One transaction was made for Euro. Rate - 141.00 (-0.50) tenge per Euro,
volume - 10,000 (0) EUR, closing quotation - 140.40/99 tenge.
